Will I go to jail?

Imprisonment is a sentence open to the court for particularly serious examples of this offence; particularly when there are injuries to the victims, the brawl involves a large number of people or occurs over a long period of time.

For less serious example of this offence, you may receive a fine or a Community Corrections Order.

What should I do?

If you are a suspect in relation to an affray charge it is vitally important that you speak to a Solicitor before you speak to the police.

You may have a complete defence of self defence, or the police may not be able to identify you as being involved in the fight. Therefore your defence can be compromised without proper advice on how to deal with your record of interview.
